I can't recall that it's ever volunteered in my yard unless I pulled it up before it flowered.
It's unusual for anything GOOD to come up in my yard unless it's something I planted.

It does have an odor.I have grown it as a cut flower and noticed the distintive smell.Lots of plants have an odor-some much more obnoxious than this.I dislike the "thornapples" smell.I wonder if it because they are poison.Posy Pet

The description and Christie's pix are dead on to what's growing in my yard....but to me...it smells like someones stinky,sweaty armpits sprayed with lemon pledge...PPPP...UUUU!...But,it'll stay because it's nice looking and blooms the time of the year when you need fresh color.
