I love the agastaches! The first I had I grew from seed. The packet just said Korean Hyssop. I think every seed germinated. They reseed with a vengeance but are easy to pull and discard or replant elsewhere.

I have bought Blue Fortune and Golden Jubilee. Didn't have any reseeding from BF last year. GJ is new this year so will see--I like things that reseed.

Mine have never been very tall---maybe 3-4 ft.

My Hyssop only reaches 4 feet at the most! With this heat and drought we are having here in Northwest Arkansas I'm surprised it's still alive! I took up gardening about four years ago and this is definitely the hottest, driest summer I remember in a long, long time. In fact on the news last night they were saying it hasn't been this hot in NW Arkansas in at least seven years! I sure hope it rains soon cuz my water bill is going to be outrageous!

Yup,hot here too but luckily,we had 3 days of rain last week that gave my sprinklers a break,that usually run daily.we're on a well,I sure wouldn't want to see a water bill after watering 1 1/2 acres of yard and two greenhouses. I'd be in the poor house...LOL! Hubby promises(for the 4th year running) this fall he is going to put in that sprinkler system for the yard so I don't spend another summer dragging hoses and sprinklers around.

I planted out Golden Jubilee last fall so don't know how well it re-seeds yet. Put it in full sun but will need to move it into a partly shadey area this fall 'cause it's looking really fried. Found this to be true also with the yellow flowering salvia.

Plant is self sewn.I haven't planted or sewn seeds for this plant since the first one I ever set out. Don't feed it anything unless you count 4 boston terriers pooping in the beds.

Guess I need to take pix of all my "monster" plants so I can post them here.

Finally got an hour long downpour Saturday! One of those sudden pop up thunderstorms. Lots of wind damage south of me in the Fort Smith area. It was in the 100s and after the rain dropped to the mid 70s. WHAT A RELIEF it was! I am trying to keep my different gardens (here and there across my 2.5 acres) watered and it's been so hard on me because I work full time and running teenagers and two younger ones! My oriental lillies are frying in this hot sun as well as one of my Jane Magnolia trees. I'm lucky I haven't lost anything yet! I'm really dreading my water bill! I did get out after the rain to till up a new area for my 230+ Iris I ordered and have started arriving in the mail! I need to find a hubby who will put in a sprinkler system for me! LOL.

All my mater's are rotting on the vine because it so hot.I have a small woodland section that's frying away because it's under a dogwood and several pines. Dogwood stops water from rainbird from getting a good soaking and pines suck up any other water that does get to the ground so I'm going to have to connect a gazillon miles of hoses together,drag them uphill and put a small sprinkler on my woodland plants.

I'm still holding a lot of my woodland natives in pots in the greenhouse until promised sprinkler system is installed. Think I already lost my fringed orchid,dutchman's breeches and some ferns I already put out there.*Wah!*

PP your woodland plants might be going into summer dormancy. Not familiar with those mentioned but our wild ginger, bloodroot, solomon's seal, mertensia, anemone, phlox, and fern will periodically disappear and then return when conditions are more favorable. The echinacea is crisped now but the goldfinches are attracted to the seed heads. It always returns and keeps spreading. We do only the most essential watering. We would enjoy seeing pictures of your plants. EP

I hope so,I sure would hate to loose all my woodland plants I've put out so far.

I'm eyeballing a combo printer,scanner,copier/fax machine at Wallyworld. My old printer bit the dust and computer refuse to find/reconize my old scanner.I'm just waiting to get my cc balance down.....but I have been taking a lot of new pix so when I am able,I will be boring ya'll to tears w/pix.
