Glicks is probably the best near Boyertown and has very good prices. If you want a nice drive to seen an unbelievable variety and more very good prices, go to Black Creen Nursery. From Lancaster Avenue in Kenhurst, go out New Holland Road (Rt. 625) 13 miles and then turn left on Black Creek Rd. It is .4 miles east of 625. It is well marked and very popular. It is open from 8 am to 8 pm Monday thru Friday. Closes at 5 pm on Saturday. It is 3.7 miles before you reach route 23 and Shady Maple.

While you are down there, I recommend stopping in at Conestoga Nursery which is past the Black Creek turnoff 2 miles further down 625. Conestoga has an excellent selection of shrubs and trees. It is closed Tuesday & Sunday and is open from April to November.

There is also are several family farm stands just north of the Black Creek road turnoff on 625 that are fun to stop at. They have nice plants and baked goods also.

And if you are very hungry, stop to eat at Shady Maple's buffet.

Thanks! I did go out to Black Creek Greenhouses yesterday on the spur of the moment after reading all the recommendations on this forum. I was very pleased! Found all kinds of VERY healthy, stocky annuals that will be just perfect for my planters & pots. Bought a gorgeous, large hanging basket that ties all the colors of my bedding plants together for $20--definitely less expensive than i would have paid around here. I will definitely go back again. Didn't have time to go thru the perennial greenhouse or stop at Conestoga Nursery.

Hope to get back that way in a week or so. It's an hour drive for me, but i stopped at Shady Maple Farm Mkt & bought the nicest, freshest produce! Some of their prices were terrific--$1 for a head of ORGANIC Romaine lettuce. 10 kiwis for $1. 5 lbs. of organic carrots for $3.59 i think. Then i stopped at one of the farm stands along the road & bought local strawberries. Yummm! So i had a great day, even if i couldn't spend as much time out there i as would have liked.
