I thought it was close too. The wind came up when I was working outside and the sky was dark so I hurried in to put the dog outside before it started raining. Then no rain. : ( Very disappointing. My grand total for July is still under a tenth of an inch. There's another chance for rain this afternoon though.

Not much here in Joplin either, I spent the day at Roaring River wher it poured torrents for about an hour, and it drizzled all the way home in the evening but not enough here for any accumilation. It was misty rain in the morning when I left and the same when I got home but the ground was dry.

Then it thundered and grumbled yesterday, two different times, but the sun just kept on shining and we got nothing except 103 in the afternoon. At least it's cloudy this morning while I have sprinklers going.

No rain here according to the gauge. There were sprinkles and thunder but nothing measurable. The weatherman made a big deal of it being cooler. It doesn't feel cool yet; the heat seems to be bothering me more. I think that is because of higher humidity which is good for thunderstorm build up.

Sounds like it missed a bunch of us...bummer. Got about 1/10" today and at least it only got to about 88 for the high. We all need some rain for sure.

Cooler? Not at my house. My atomic clock/thermometer has had it at 100 degrees plus every day. And my sensor is in the shade! It might be cooler at night but by mid afternoon it's back up there again. I don't know where the weather service gets their high temps for the day when they say it was in the high 90's and cooler but it isn't in my real life!

Nope. Nada. None in the forecast either, just hot, hot, and more hot.
