Beautiful ! I love the 'Moth Orchids', they hold their blooms for such a long time. Mine last at least 4 months, and some times 6 months.

Oh my but they are so beautiful.
do you have an advantage with them in your climate now?
I don't know it would be so hard to not be able to grow some of your favorite plants in your climate, and yet grow others that are difficult to grow here. At least they need to be under special care.

Well..this can certainly become addicting, but it is so wonderful to be able to share! If only I knew how to easily comply with US Customs we could start a whole new form of seed and plant exchange... I saw a Grandpa Otts in another post that I am just loving!!

Orchids here are the easiest things to grow if you can find the right light for them in your yard...and yes -- everyone grows them in their yards. My mother has some spectacular ones and she is really my inspiration.

Cardinal rule in these parts is get them happy in their place and then just leave them alone...Mother Nature takes care of the rest and if you get a bit antsy for more blooms then give them a little food once in a while.

Once I get myself organized, I can share a bit more pics, but in the meantime, here are a couple more I just took today...

This is my newest, just bought today, and still unidentified but I think it some sort of quill (?) Don't know anything more than that at this point or even how to take care of it but it sure has some pretty colors...



And, of course, who can garden in the islands without having anthuriums...purely a shade plant and likes to have it's feet damp all the time...



Lastly, a spider lily. This is their season and mine have just started blooming. They last only a day, just like our Ozarks day lilies, and are the most delicate things...
