trish, have your tried creek edge up behind franklin mills mall? (kind of behind toys-r-us. i purchased some assorted coleus, can't say for sure if any of it was stained glass, but they also had a variety of 3" pots of specific varieties.

i don't know if oakland cemetary - off ramona, near adams avenue, still sells plants -- they have a coupld of greenhouses that would sell plants to the locals. i didn't check it out this year, but have in the past.

i can't think of the name of the place that takes up a good sized block down in kensington - fairly new. i know you know the name of it...don't ya?

by any chance, do you know where i can get some straw (seedless would be wonderful). i can no longer get it where i had in the past.

Trish, Creek edge is closed for the summer, but you may want to try Meadowbrook Farm in Abington. I was just there and they had some real nice Coleus, not to mention the other nice things they have!

I was at Creek Edge Friday and they were down to very few plants. While they didn't previously have Stained Glass coleus, I did see Coleus canina which I had hoped to get but they're out of it. Yes, they were closing any day.

Maryanne....I forgot about Greens Grow in Kensingson/Port Richmond. I was there when they opened the season and they were stocked with a nice variety of plants. I'll have to call them.
Ronnie...I can go to Meadowbrook this week, as I'll be near there this week. Thanks for the tip and I'll most likely come home with more than I really need...lol.
I'm trying to discipline myself to stay away from Lowes because I'm getting addicted to their clearance carts!

I know mom and I bought some of these at the HD on Aramingo in Philly on Mother's Day, but I didn't see any coleus at all when I was there last Wednesday. Mother's Day is when Creek Edge would have had them too, we bought them there last year, again on Mother's Day.

I was going to recommend Greens Grow too. There is also a market on the corner of Aramingo and Allegheny, they have plants, might be worth a shot. It might be a little late in the season though. Good luck!
