Old orchids in my trees

I have older orchids in my plumeria trees and am wondering if I should cut out the orchid stems that have already produces spikes and flowers (not just off the flower spikes). Will this promote more of the plant to continue....ie many just keep producing further away from the original group...? I have ALL varieties.

I doubt that you have all varieties, but just say for example you have some "Cattleyas" you could cut the the Rhizome a few growths back from the newest growth to encourage growth in a different direction.

Plumeria is a good host in the right climate.

How do know what he/she meant? This situation happens all the time at orchid shows and forums. All you can do is reply as best you can.

Depends on what is meant by Varieties. Some numbers...
Some 30,000 orchid species, most of those "botanicals"
Number of Orchid Hybrids registered by the Royal Horticultural Society. Maybe
100,000.
I have about 1000 orchids and i would never say that i have all varieties.
