I asked my vet about boosting my horses west nile virus shots early(they has them early winter last year), and he said due to the drought, we didnt seem to have the mosquito population to worry about.i'm like you, i've not seen many.

I find that after the rains we had recently mosquitos are starting to multiply. With the west nile virus threat, that's always a concern. Just in the last few days I had a least 7 bites. During the drought, not one! (Just a few misserable chigger bites!!!!!!!)

I know where they are! They're all on my front porch or in the greenhouses just waiting for me to come out so they can pounce on me.

I, too, noticed that the pop. was down, but thought it must be my imagination, and after thinking about it, figured it must be the lack of rain and any wet spots for them.
