No but I am wondering what will come next. In the last few years we have had two unusual ice storms, a late freeze in April that got native plants, extreme cold last Feb., flooding in May, two F 4 and over tornadoes, a cool May and a hot June this spring, hotter July and my August forecast for three days is l04 or 105. I think this is more than a spell of bad weather.

I swear that every year at this time. My grass is crunchy and actually hurts to walk on. My plants are only alive because of a super thick layer of mulch and watering with the hose.

And yet the weeds are taking over my front garden! Grrr.

I've been watering a lot of my shrubs for the last two or three weeks. My hydrangeas are wilted of course but even my viburnums have leaves that look dry. My Chinese Dogwoods are looking very stressed as well as beauty berry, clethra and ninebark and yesterday I noticed that my Washington Hawthorn tree had very wilted leaves. It's about 15 feet tall but was planted years ago and should be well established. Every day when I water, I add something new to the list and it's getting way too long.
I have weeds too Teeandcee - they grow where I water and the moles have been digging in my flower beds because that's where the ground is soft and where the worms are I guess. They kept digging around my little zinnia seedlings earlier this summer and I'm sure I lost a few because of it.
