How did you keep it when you brought it in for the winter. Did you let it die back?

I keep reading about people keeping palms in my zone and wonder if I could do it. A lot of work.

I have a palm that I leave out all winter. It has done good. I just brought the banana in and cut its leaves off and stored it with no dirt and replant in the spring.

That sounds pretty close to what I have read.
I did come across a couple of people that build a Plastic "shelter/greenhouse" around them w/heavy mulch. that sounded like way to much, for my taste. then take down is the spring. Nope I don't think I would like that.
But this idea of yours sound do able.
I am in the process of trying to figure out what I am going to do for next year. I had problems w/most of my plants this year. so redoing all my beds but 2.
I'm going to try to stay away from annuals except the one's that reseed and only in a bed of there own.
I plant on trashing all else.

That is great! I know you wanted to see it bloom. Mine never will since I leave it in the ground each winter but maybe I'll try it just once..for that bloom.

The flower is beautiful, but I also like the perfect foliage. In the picture it looks blue green.
