I've seen it listed as hardy to zone four myself. I've read post from people in zone 5 who state that they are growing it and it does return (usually in late May or early June. hence its name). I have tried once before to get one to establish here, but I wasn't too optomistic last summer as the plant never really grew well for me before frost set in. I'm more hopeful this year.

Good drainage and a sheltered site seem to be key to getting this plant to survive in colder regions.
