Topher, go to a local fast food restaraunt that sells pasta salad or other stuff and order it "to go". Most put it in a container that works GREAT for me.
As far as I have found, just plain ole 100% perlite on top of a CATV box or VCR is just the right heat.

Or margarine tubs, they also have lids which make the atmosphere inside humid if needed. Ours here are not 'see through' like the takeaway trays I use but can make a good germinating tray as they have more depth to them.

Yes, you did say 'trays' as opposed to smaller tubs or similar didn't you, sorry...ok, then let's think...how about this suggestion...check out your local pet stores for extra deep cat litter trays then? Don't laugh folks....We can get the standard ones or 'super-dooper' size ones over here and the one I have is a generous 4 inches deep and 18x12 inches overall...any good? These would provide deeper rooting conditions than regular seed trays I would think which are much shallower, apart from this idea I'm stumped. For obvious reasons there are no drainage holes in the base, but you could easliy make some if you prefer. Just another thought, HTH.

Well guys i bought a kit from hydofarms on ebay and i realy like the looks of this kit. The trays are deep and the heater is realy thick. I put some sabal minors ,sabal
palmetto, washingtonia robusta, sereona repens,kings and canary island date seeds in it. I am anxious to see how these work and will keep you updated .
