Glenda, my mom used to grow this so I ordered some seed, from Johnny's I think. Did you sow in place or raise the plants and set out?

My grandmother used to grow it; that is why I wanted it when I saw it. I have two plants she grew on the west side of her house. It was this and oenothera speciosa.

I grew it inside under lights and then planted out. That was a few years ago. It self-seeds like crazy. I should have thinned this patch.

I could have saved seeds for you. I will have tons.

I need to cut some back. Buried in there is the first vitex agnes castus I have ever had and it is blooming and about 2-1/2 feet tall. I can't see it at all until I stand and look down into the grove of sotm.

I hear the bloom is fragrant and the leaves. I need to check that out this morning.

Very pretty Glenda! It's silvery looking. Is it flowering in that picture or is the color just from the leaves?

Glenda, unfortunately the seed you sent me didn't make it. A couple germinated but something ate or broke them and that was the end of them. I would love some seed again if you don't mind.

And what did you decide about poppies and cleome? I have seed of both.

mulberry, I will save seeds again and let them stay on longer to ripen. It's tricky; you leave them too long and they are already dropped. I have plenty of poppies and purple and white cleome. Don't worry about an exchange.

christie, there isn't much of a bloom, it is the variegation that shows up the most. Here is a not very good closeup of the bloom.

I admired this at the white garden in the park. It is an interesting looking plant. Does the plant stay attractive for a long time?

I think it stays this good until frost....will have to pay attention this year. It took forever to get the white variegation this year, but it got a lot taller than last year.

It self seeds for me.
