The snake was fat so I cut it open to see what was inside- eleven baby snakes.

I'm avoiding that photo though, kinda gross. lol

I sure do I admire you for having the fortitude to follow your curiousity, Helen. You have saved yourself a lot of possible future grief. Way to go!

I was pulling a few weeds yesterday without gloves and your pictures of Copperheads came to mind;
I stopped, got my gloves before I pulled any more.

Glenda I don't think you have to worry if you don't see copperheads on your road in fall or laying around your yard in the evening. I have very ideal copperhead habitat. I am disassembling my raised bed made of wood blocks that were supposed to be for fire wood. Piles of wood bring copperheads. I don't have tin laying around but the people who for some reason look for snakes make piles of barn metal roof and boards. I have the blocks and boards part of the copperhead attracting set up.
