Thanks for the lead. I looked at the publication and based on the elevation range given for P. coriacea it is unlikely that the plant I am seeing is this species. The climate at 1500 m is very different from that at 2400 m. Also other similar species are not recored for our area.

I have not seen flowers yet so I'm not really sure it belongs in the same group. It does have a "bat-wing" leaf. The varigation on the leaf is quite distinct from the P. coriacea I have seen or images seen to date. It occurs as distinct spots.

I'm going to keep an eye on this plant and try to find more specimans. So far I have found it in two fairly nearby locations.

Linda Escobar used to run the herbarium at the University of Antioquia and perhaps they have some material there. She collected in the Piedras Blancas area.

BTW does anyone know where she is now? the last I heard of her she was in San Diego, California.

I'll get some photos next time I am up at the finca.

Sorry but Linda Escobar died a while back. I guess try to get some good pics and some plants of course if possible.
I don't know how much you know about Passiflora - a lot of Decaloba have bat wing type leaves to some extent but the coriacea type are quite specific.
