P. loefgrenii x caerulea

Beginner's luck, I got one loefgrenii seed to germinate this spring, it flowered very nicely in the warm summer, I crossed it with caerulea and it formed some nice fruits. Problem was of course my short growing season. I left the fruits on the vine as long as possible and finally had to pick one remaining fruit while still somewhat green. I didn't hold out much hope but it did seem to ripen indoors. After a couple months I took maybe 10 or so small seeds out, and to my amazement they are now germinating.


If my luck stays with me I'll keep these seedlings alive and pray for another warm, long summer. What a wonderful plant! I can see why you all love it so.
