Are you asking about ornamental grasses or grasses for you lawn?

Kentucky Blue Grass.
Best grass I ever planted.

Personally I like creeping red fescue.

It doesnt do so well in the heat but if watered stays nice a dark green. Its fine bladed which I like. Cool season grass. First to green up in the spring and stays green fall through winter. It like a little shade, good soil and plenty water in the summer.

KBG is the best warm season grass but is late turning green in the spring but stays green through the heat of summer.Then goes dormant in the winter.

I mix of the two I have been messsing around with. But they dont seem to play nice with each other. The CRF seems to out compete the KBG.

KGB seems to take alot longer to establish than other grasses.
But I like it because I have a female dog that seems to urinate on my lawn too much for other grasses.
Yes, I do water it alot because of that, but oddly, my lawn stays green all winter.
It doesn't change color at all.
It also has a lot of clover in it, (complements of my neighbor who didn't want to mow his lawn last year),which it doesn't seem to mind at all, in fact, they grow nice together.

Kentucky blue grass is real dark green and usually comes with another type of grass mixed in, because it takes about 2 weeks until it comes up fully. Then it overcomes the other type of grass seed that was mixed in with it, and your lawn looks really dark green.
In any case, my yard is in full sun, and is extrememly hot in the summer, so I really needed the KBG for my yard.
I am sure you will find a nice variety of grass to hold up to the heat for you.
Just don't forget to water!
