Most Passiflora stop flowering when the temperature gets too high and they are in full sun.
Good ones to try are P. holosericea, the Australian species such as P. cinnabarina and some of the P. foetidas grow in hot desert conditions. P. Incarnata will do well also. P.coriacea & P. suberosa will flower fine in the heat but keep them in shade. Put up some shade cloth perhaps.

Hotter summers than California? I grow these, all in containers, all on my balcony (south facing):

molissima
caerulea (my mom grows this one too, and her summers get to 115 degrees in the summer, routinely!)

P. incense thrives in the Texas heat with little supplemental watering once it's established, so I doubt Montreal summers would pose much of a problem for it. Your winters, on the other hand...
