I make jelly from these and other wild berries every year but this year I was concerned because I had the time to pick the wineberries but not enough time to preserve them so I took the advice from a friend. She picks and freezes her berries and in September when the weather cools down she'll put up all her jellies.

Wine berries growing wild are usually seen on the edge of woods or fence rows. For that reason, you might need to provide some partial shade,particularly to roots, to domesticate them. Used to see them in SE PA but not in central PA. They don't seem acclimated this far north.
