Geno, I live in zone 8b and mine didn't survive in my unheated Florida room, so unless you keep it in a pot and bring it indoors, when the temps reach 50 degrees, it won't live.

kayjones, it must have been a different variety as they are native here in Texas in our zone. I received some seeds from the East Indies which I started last fall and they have been outside thru our winter months. It did not even frost here so that is no help with hardiness. I understand that even frost-free areas of Southern CA are too cold for Passiflora quadrangularis. It's more tropical than many of its close relatives.

There are a ton of sources online that echo what kayjones said. Your effective "growing season" would be very short.
