I have some crepe myrtles that I watered last summer. But there is one that I put in the far reaches of my yard that never got watered and it is blooming. I am thankful for the tough plants. Crepe myrtle has attractive leaves in spring and fall even when it isn't blooming.

Yay! I'm glad it finally bloomed. The mama crape myrtle (Acoma) has white flowers but I think your pink is prettier.

I had another volunteer from the same crape myrtle that came up in one of my potted blueberries last year and had flowers that were a pretty light lilac color. I repotted it but this summer was so hot, I kept my container plants in the shade to make it easier to keep them watered so it
never bloomed. I need to get it in the ground somewhere.
Sometimes they have really good fall color if we don't get an early freeze.

Forecast says we will have that early freeze/frost tonight! :-(

I'm afraid you're right JB. It looks like Saturday night will be the coldest. : ( I hate to see the flowers go so soon. Hopefully a few will make it through.

I am pulling up stuff and throwing it all in plastic bags putting in my basement until I get a better plan. By stuff I mean sun coleus, purple trailing tradescantia, torenia, begonia etc. I guess I will lug the hybiscus in too, I will probably get a zoo of small things in my house.
