I have seen Canadian Geese arriving here. They are early.

I still have devil beetles--they are late.

I have been watching for my mature male hummingbird carefully as they are usually the first to leave (although also the first to arrive in spring). He left last year as a juvenile sometime after September 11 (juvies and females are usually the last to leave), so I'll try to see when he goes this year (hopefully not too early, 'cause I'll miss that little guy)!

Hummingbirds are still around. I was reading on the back deck 2 days ago and a hummingbird hovered about a foot away from my face, watching me. When I said, "Hey", he flew about 3 feet away and continued to watch me before taking off.
Hmmmmm...I never did put the feeder out this year, because I wanted to wait till the decks were treated, which didn't happen until August. I swear he was just trying to make me feel guilty.

LOL naturenut! Never too late to stick one out now. I'm sitting here right now watching them come and go. They have been finishing up their molting and are definitely fattening up.
