We've given up on the soaker hoses since our well water ends up clogging them so quickly. Instead, we went to the black plastic pipe that you can attach emitters to. Works like a charm since you can run length down the beds and then run the smaller hose to each plant. Not expensive and easy to install. Lowe's and Home Depot both carry versions of this or Dripworks online has it, too.

same here, black soaker hose wont work along entire length anymore--and emiters stop up on other. i'm going to use cattle panels to stake what needs it next year, 16' long, then use cheap pvc pipe with holes drilled in it to run the length of the panels, on the ground, glueing whatever type ends i need on it.oh, and the staking?plant tomatoes, peppers, whatever, between 2 rows of panels, then, simply slide support stakes thru the panel as plants grow. least--it looks good on paper !!!

ceresone, you might want to try tying some strips of knit fabric around the drill holes in the black plastic if you are not using the little lines to go to each plant. It will give you a soft drip/flow that works fine for me. We have used it with old garden hose...when it clogs, just take a pair of pliers to the garden hose to break the mineral loose. Used this hanging up on grape and berry wires where we could see if it was flowing.
