I think it's salvia darcyi because they have that growing in the display garden. I have some too and it's been getting through the winter for several years now without mulch but I do think zone 6 is pushing its limits. It should make it unless we have an especially cold winter.

I do like it and so do the hummingbirds. It doesn't bloom as heavily as Black and Blue but those big red flowers show up well.
