Too late to plant shrubs?

Is it too late to plant things like Leyland Cypress or a holly bush? I wanted to put in a new bed around my deck but am just getting around to it now. I just dont know if they will have a good amount of time to establish themselves before winter hits. What luck have you had with fall planting? Thanks!

Yes, I'm in Lancaster Co and there is still time to plant shrubs. In fact, this is the best time to plant them. There is enough time for the shrub to establish a good root system and settle in.

for the past few years, i've been shopping nurseries in november to get the deepest discounts. i was always told that as long as you can get a shovel in the ground, you can plant. eveything i've planted has always been just fine.
