Seems like I remember seeing it along old HWY 71 between here and Ft. Smith, but have seen none in MO. Wonder how long that will last if we don't get back to some cold winters? I have seen whole forests covered with it in Alabama...I am talking about forests with huge old trees...it looks like it has been draped in green cloth. It's far worse than Johnson Grass.

Yeah, saw it growing at Artists' Point on old Hwy. 71. What were they thinking?? Same with multiflora..the bane of rose growers in our area.

multiflora will never be eradicated--because of people like our neighbors, who carefully mow around huge bushes in their yard-and talk about how "pretty it smells"! and i thought it astonishing to see kudzu on one side of the state line--and not the other. used to be that way outside thayer, mo. perhaps it's crossed the line since then. BUT, one thing i've noticed, in our woods, several trees have been killed by 5-leaved ivy (english?). i've seen it growing in the field too, another potential problem?

Ceresone, could you be talking about Virginia Creeper? It has five fingers and you can't kill it! I have tried for 10 years now. It is gorgeous in the fall, gets a flourescent orangey red and this year mine has dark blue seeds.

BTW, I may have been pretty close to you this week. We took highway 60 across the state to Poplar Bluff. I forgot which county you were in. It sure is pretty down that way.

gldno, you were within 3 miles of me! when you were at the south junction of 60-63. trees are just starting to get pretty, but lots are just going straight to brown, on account of the drough, i understand.
