trellis for potted passiflora?

I have a passiflora of a rare kind someone gifted me several years ago (but I don't recall its exact name at the mo). It's in a 10 gal pot and is going like gangbusters.

My question -- what do you use for support? I used to have a it on a trellis which it quickly outgrew and the trellis took up too much space anyway...then when I repotted the passiflora I got a 6 ft wood stake and wound the plant around it.

It seems to like this formation so far...perhaps a little too much as it's starting to rather aggressively overgrow the stake too, so I'm wondering if this is correct? Should I be doing something else? I live in an apartment w/ limited balcony space so doing a full-sized trellis is out of the question (also, can't plant it in the ground nor train it over a fence or something), and space is at a premium.

I pinch off the tendrils to discourage it from growing so aggressively, but do you have any tips for 1) support systems and/or 2) controlling its aggressive growth?

Thanks!
