Lowe's passiflora

I stopped by Lowe's today and was pleasantly surprised to see they had a whole section full of 1 gallon incense and vitifolia. But on closer look, I realized that what they had listed as incense was nothing of the kind. The odd, three-lobed leaves were obviously not incense. Then I found one with a bloom. Amethyst! Someone had mislabled a dozen or more Amethyst as incense.

I bought one. But then I got to wondering if it were really Amethyst or actually Lavender Lady. So I checked on Passiflow.uk and the Ulmer & MacDougal book, and *think* it's an actual Amethyst. But does anyone know a good way to tell the two apart, other than checking to see if any fruit is hollow or not?

I don't have the answer to your question, but my Lowes had Lady Margaret today!!! I bought 2! I have tried to get it as a trade for 2 years. No luck. Now I have 2 beautiful blooming plants.

I think I saw Lady Margarets at our Home Depot this week or maybe it was Lowe's, been to both this week. I recently got a "purple Passion Vine" according to the label at Lowes and I think it is actually an Amethyst. I got it as host plant for my butterflies but haven't found an egg or caterpillar on it yet.

The local Home Depot--which I also occasion--had half a dozen large incense vines in 5 gallon pots. These were pretty doggone robust plants, but I already have more incense than I know what to do with. Sadly, that's all they had in the way of passiflora.
