Do any of you feed the variety of seed that they are selling? My birds seem to only like sunflower seeds. When I got a mixture they ate the sunflower seeds and left the safflower and some others. I do like a variety of birds and if these other seeds will attrack something new, I'd try again. Thistle seed has gotten too expensive for me.

I mix sunflower seeds with millet for the birds. I buy it at farm store in town and it reasonably priced. Plus, they get old broken up bread, and suet(I get free from grocery store).

I also have a bird bath that I wash out and fill each day. Since I have had the same plastic bird bath for years, I decided to buy a pretty, green metal one this year. The birds would not use it, so I had to put the ugly plastic one back out and within a day they were lining up taking turns taking a bath. I think my birds are spoiled.

They sell products for birds that birds won't use. Hummingbird feeders are the worst.

I was looking at their seed sale info too. I don't know if those are good prices. I can't remember what I paid before.

I bought seed at Race Brother's last year. They were cheaper than WM on thistle seed. You can bag your own.
I've used safflower. Supposedly the undesirable birds like starlings and grackles don't like it so it lasts longer.

The local MFA's sell birdseed too, both bulk and bagged.

Thanks for the tip on Race Brothers. I have been buying at WalMart and Lowes.

I buy from MFA - black sunflower seeds. I think their seed is fresh. Maybe they know how to care for that type of product.
