Hello all,
My Incense x caerulea hybrids have started to bloom, so I thought I'd share some pics. This is the second year of blooming for them. I am thinking about registering #4 and #5, but I'd like everyone's opinion. Number 4 has a vigorous vine and blooms well--its the best candidate I think. Number 5 has some mutations of the reproductive structures and occasionally needs help opening its buds, but I like the magenta center and wildly contorted filaments. I've also attached a pic of #2, but that one unfortunately is no longer with us. I have one more that hasn't bloomed, and 6 more just sprouted seedlings.
Here's #4 from this past weekend:
Here's #5 from this past weekend (this particular flower has more contorted filaments than usual):
Here's a triple bloom of #5 from last year:
Here's #2:
Here's a collage of all 5 with an additional pic of #2 and #5 at the bottom right. The order is
1 2
3 4
5 2&3
It really is interesting how different these look with the exception of #1 and #3 which are very close.
