ninecrow do you kow what color it is I have these they dont make winter here but I get plenty of seeds and these will flower fast in few months you will love these I do post pic on what color you have these are super easy to grow from seed.

My gossypiifolia is growing like crazy and finally setting some buds. I've got two additional smaller plants that seem to be taking off as well, so fingers are crossed that I'll be able to get more fruit out of them this year.

The gossypiifolia is officially in full-blown flowering mode. Unfortunately, I have nothing else to pollenate it with. The second gossy from last year is still very small, not anywhere ready to flower. And a seedling I sprouted from last year's fruit is still a month or so away. Still, I get to enjoy a lot of pretty pink and white flowers...

jblaschke have you Selfed your gossypiifolia, if so did it work?

I never pollenated mine and they always have fruit not sure but think the self pollenating are maybe I just got lucky last year never had 1 not pollenate havent had any flowers yet this year.

I'm a new comer from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, SE China. P. foetida can autonomously selfing here in field. I mean, when I bagged the flower buds with mesh bags, they still can bear fruits with seeds.
I wondered if it can do autonomously selfing in other places?
Could anyone do or did the little experiment to find?

I also think they might be self pollinating. Mine produced fruit from every flower and there were times when nothing else was in bloom. I was also able to use foetida pollen to fertilize my Palmeri Sublancelata. The foetida seeds I planted reached blooming size in a very short time, maybe 6 months.
