Almost Caught Up!

I am so proud of myself......I have my pot ghetto in the ground.....at last. This is the first time in years that I haven't had to winterize pots outside.

I have (3) fruit trees to go, but I know where they are going which is the big thing for me. I will get them in tomorrow or Monday.

I hereby swear to never, never buy another plant unless the bed is tilled and waiting!! (I say this as I am remembering a flat of coleus cuttings and a tray of daylily seedlings under the lights on the back porch), they should be easy next spring. I will row out the daylilies in the garden until they bloom and the coleus will go in the beds around the house.

I have been watering for the last two days......is it ever going to rain here again? I keep thinking that rain in the NE needs to come down here and let those poor people have a breather.

Phft! To the caught up part. I've got plants still waiting from 3 or so years....ok, so maybe they are mostly shrubs and trees I'm growing from seed. Ok,so some of the reason I haven't planted them is 'cause hub's has been promising sprinkler system for 3-4 yrs now...but PHFT on you anyway for being caught up...*BSG*

I'm with you on the north to quit hogging all the rain. Had to transplant a 13-14 yr old weeping jap. maple Sunday,dug a hole 'bout two ft.before I hit any kind of moisture and it wasn't much. Had to run hose on a mid. mist all night to get maple water back in real good.

I have just a couple things I need to plant before winter. Most of the catching up I need to do is with pulling weeds. I think my yard has more weeds now than it ever has and I just don't have the time to catch up.
Hope last night's rain didn't miss you again GLD. I haven't checked our rain gauge yet but it sounded like we got quite a bit.
Peggy - Do you think your Japanese Maple will make it? I would've been afraid to move a tree that big. Hope it does well. I don't think I've ever dug a hole two feet deep in my life. I'd have to start a new rock pile for that....and visit the chiroprator. lol

Christie,
it's dropping it's leaves but that's to be expected. Keeping it deeply watered. Only next year will tell. It's weeping form"Crimson Queen"so it was more wide than tall. Root system was wide too so not only did I have to dig it deep but wide also.
