Surprised me too and I don't feel like covering up stuff. I am in a valley; if anyone gets frost I will.

You know it was bound to happen....big sigh.....

I picked the open brugmansia flowers. They are upstairs in the bathroom and I can smell them down here.

just checked and the patch of Bermuda Grass just this side of the garden gate is stiff with frost.....have to dig the sweet potatoes today!

I had no idea that brugmansias were that fragrant. I thought I didn't want to start with those since they bloom so late but maybe I do need one after all. : )

I didn't cover anything up but I did move a few pots so they'll be protected. I want to bring my jasmine sambac inside but I think I need to make sure there's no toads or other critters hiding down in the soil in the pot first.

We had lots of patches of frost, in yard, in garden and in fields. I dug the sweet potatoes and can add that to the list of things that did not do well! Sorriest crop except one I have ever raised.........great crop last year, different variety, and let it freeze in the barn..........I guess there is always next year!

Christie unless you have a sun porch, I wouldn't bother with brugmansia. I didn't get frost here, but I was out after dark putting sheets over them. They are large plants. If you want to mess with a plant that has to be protected, your jasmine smells better. Before my mother came to live here, I had a jasmine in front of my glass door. It bloomed sporadically in winter and smelled very good.
