Is it something like a White Pine that's very full? If so I'm not sure that enough light would get through the branches to get it to bloom. Can you grow it in a container? That's what I end up doing with many of my plants because I don't have enough space available for planting in the backyard.

The pine tree is about 30 feet tall, but it is not very full. There is plenty of light available, but it is rather a question of whether the tendrils can grab on to the bark or not.

My in-laws have Incense growing up into their loblolly pine trees outside of Austin. The bark gives them ample grips for their tendrils, and the branches and needles are open enough to allow for plenty of light. It looks quite attractive-- at least until the caterpillars strip the vines bare.
