You can plant P. incarnata pretty much anytime above Zone 7. The important thing I have realized is to keep the roots dry during the cold season. So, if you live in an area like I do, where all the rain is in the winter, don't put it in the open ground. You WILL kill it. Minor frost is not an issue, but it needs to stay fairly dry while cold. If you have one right now, I would plant it immediately if you want to see flowers this year.

I am nearly sure that Dan at Brushwood Nursery - www.gardenvines.com has them for sale. If it says "sold out", email him. Sometimes he only has one or two, but will sell them if you ask nicely. I have NEVER, in all my years of Passiflora collecting, seen one in a nursery. You are relegated to mail order, trades, or seeds.

Thanks for the tip about BN. I saw the other string, but that one nursery only had tons of varieties, and BN said they were out. But I have an e-mail in to them to see if they might have one plant. :)

I have never purchased from Easy Wildflowers. Before ordering from anyone new, my suggestion would be to go to Garden Watchdog. I tried to attach the link for this company below, but GardenWeb threatened to ban me from their site for spamming!

In any case, read reviews and make your own judgement call as to your comfort level.

I know here in Florida the wild "Maypops" or Incarnata are just now starting to come up. Our winter was so cold, it has delayed many of our plants that normally return in Mar./April time frame. The butterflies are following suit and not showing up either.
