Winter Update

I'm pleased to say that many of my Passiflora made it through the (relatively) brutal winter here in sunset zone 15.
First, I'd like to have a moment of silence for those who didn't make it (20F):
'Victoria'

'Purple Tiger'

Loefgrenii

And an unphotographed seedling of P. tarminiana 'Bailadores', as well as manicata 'Linda Escobar'
Some have made a quick recovery:
'Oaklandia'

With exoniensis on the right:

'Raspberries and Cream', (the little speck of green next to the Canarina, Feb 11):

The top growth completely died, it cam back from the roots.
Today:

Sanguinolenta and citron citrina have also come back from their roots.

Added this year:
'Dreamcatcher'
'Mission Dolores'
'Constance Elliott'
and I'm trying more of the 'Bailadores' seedlings.

Some beautiful plants and blooms! I didn't lose any to weather here in Florida, although part of 'Panama Red' died back. Isn't it wonderful when you see a speck of green with those recognizable leaves. I had some horrible weed whacking accidents where I really kept my fingers crossed to see some growth. I have a better yard guy now.

I don't know if I could ever trust anyone else to tend my garden, which is probably why it is a huge mess most of the time. Good thing you got rid of that guy! Many people think the plants I grow are weeds. I grow a lot of vines and natives, among other odd plants. People only recognize it if it a rose, hydrangea, or an azalea.
I think I found a sprout from 'Victoria' today, but I'm not sure. It really is a wonderful feeling!

Your yard looks great! I guess I have to clarify, I did try 'Mission Dolores,' and it was the hot humid summer that did that passionflower in, but the average winter most of them come through fine. My zone 9b in Central Florida can be unpredictable though.
