I hadn't checked out the Grow Native website for awhile and this post made me think of it. If anyone hasn't come across this site before, it has photos and descriptions of hundreds of plants and lots of other info too. It has lists of natives to attract butterflies and birds, etc.
It says "add to my shopping list" below the descriptions so I assumed you could order from this site, but I think it's just so you can print out a wish list.

If you want a great Native Shrub-tree, try the "Wahoo"[eunymous] tree. I bought a small one from a lady at a swapmeet, several years ago, but she called it a "Wahoo-Wahoo" tree. Beautifull flowers in the Spring, but better yet very flashy and interesting brite pink seed pods all thru the late Summer and Fall. My tree is only 7 foot tall now but was covered with the seed pods. [which I collected and have seeded down in a flat.] The tree/shrub is growing under a huge Oak, but seems to like the spot. Strong

I don't think I've ever seen a Wahoo tree Strong but have heard they're nice. Does yours get any sun? That's interesting that it still blooms and sets seed so well in the shade. If it's drought tolerant too, I'd definitely add it to my wish list.

A dear friend gave me a start of a wahoo tree years ago.I understood it to be a shrub but mine is a tree.It is planted in dry shade on the west side of the house.It does get some sun.It has outgrown its space and has started stooling out sprouts.This has been its only negative quality for me.I had also planted a nannyberry that is a large shrub in the wild but also became a tree.It also has pretty flat white umbels? of flowers in the spring and berries for the birds but also stools out everywhere.We had to pull it out,it had gotten so big.Posy Pet
