Hi Murrel, i remember you. I can't remember if we met at Bills,when he had that trades day several years ago.

A garden book by Rodales says the herbs seem to attract bees. Dill i know does and legumes. They were always busy in the cuke and cantelopes also. I don't remember a specific flower except sedum that had more bees than another.

Had a swarm (100's) of Honey Bees on my late blooming native Asters last fall. There was a bee on every flower, some waiting in line and others circling overhead! Had never seen such activity before, on any other type of flowers.

I never noticed any flowering plant being more covered than any other, but I do know my fruit trees are covered so you can hear the buzzing from standing close by. Also the pussy willow tree was a magnet, unfortunately we had to cut it down; it was too close to the generator. The Golden Rain trees are always covered too.

I grow mexican heather every year, and the bees love it from around late August until the first frost. James

My clovers I let come up wild in the yard,buttonbush and penstemon tenuis was always busy w/bees and bumblers. Verbena-on-a-stick is a favorite of bees,bumblers and butterflies. I counted myself lucky this year to see a little larger number of bees this year.

Oh yeah,the dewberry and plum flowers attracked a lot of bees too.I've gotten more tolerant of false nettles in the yard too.I've become more aware of what "weeds" are benificial to tiny flying livestock and don't keep a manicured yard any more.
