I live on the coast in CT. Nailed an old fisherman's net to the siding and my Passi is growing up that. Hmmmm, after looking at it this morning.. I'm wondering if I should'a used full rigging! Seriously, it's doing wonderful and the net looks good against the dark brown siding. I draped it artistically (I hope!) and just pounded in several nails to keep it in place. I think I saw it done on HGTV on one of those "makeover" type shows. I also have an old antique ladder that I stand in the middle of the bed to use for clemetis or would also work for passifloras.

I staple that plastic "bird netting" up on the fence / wall to give them something cheap & easy to climb on- For 'stand alone' pots I use tomoto cages- WHen the vines grow out away from it I just wrap 'em around the cage & use the tendrils to hold 'em in place. Makes a decent compact vine I can bring in during the winter if I need, and I can lower a flourescent tube into the middle of the cage if I need to so they get enuf light over the cold dark winter.

Krstofer! Brilliant with the tomato cage and light tube! VERY ingenious. Doesn't the "hole" fill in with vine?
