The only things I have seen recommended on this forum are either bananas/and/or the peels - yes that's right bananas and plenty of full sun. Passionflowers apparently like potassium. The recommended food/fertilizer would be Camellia/Azalea food, some like it a little acidic.

I have tried both and can't say for sure that either have necessarily worked. The Azalea food, shortly after I watered w/it, we got an unexpected heavy rain storm that came thru and I'm sure washed it all away. As for your caterpillars, I have many of them also and the water soluable Azalea food did not seem to hurt them (just water w/it carefully) but like I said it rained shortly after.

The general concensus from the people far more experienced than I say that these guys will bloom when they want to and nothing we can do will seemingly change that. They say tho don't use Miracle Gro as it will only give you more foliage not flowers (too much nitrogen).

I will be using the Azalea food again this weekend, don't think any rain is on the way this time :) So we'll see what happens w/both the caterpillars and the flowers...

I'm sure that doesn't really help a whole lot, but nobody had responded so I thought I would put my 2 cents in.

If you try either, let us know what happens to both the cats and the flowers.
