I don't honestly know, not having one to blooming stage yet without being attacked by my friends the spider mites...

WHy not set up a cold frame around it for awhile? Get some clear plastic & some thin wood- Smack together a frame & staple the plastic to it. If need be you can even put a small thermostat activated heater in there.

My mother does much the same every year.

It's not likely that it will survive your freezes UNLESS you put a chicken wire cage filled with leaves or mulch over it this winter. It barely survives here in my zone 5b, coming up at the beginning of June most years.

if you've got a control for them that would be nice too. I'm trying pre-spraying with pyrethrum and moving plants in during rainy days....lol
