That first picture doesn't look like a windmill palm at all to me. It looks more like a washingtonia, and a fake one at that. I don't know.

Are you buying one from them? I'm interested in hearing about the size/quality of the palm.

Frankly, I would just look for a good deal on ebay and forget about the bag of soil. I've purchased some nice big palms on ebay (healthy etc.). Windmills though are wonderful palms (I love them). Mine are already growing and this has been a COLD March (not that far from the house). You will need to protect some in a zone 6.

The one they actually showed on TV looked nothing like the one in the picture, I'm ordering from PD I think , I have been burnt so much on palms from some on Ebay and OTHER places , I am really leary from ordering except from a reputable company, I dont know anything about PD, but I know friends who ordered other stuff from them and they got some nice plants, who on Ebay is good to order from any suggestions, I dont believe any advertisement from any of these places I just go by, what I know about certain plants and I know the bag of dirt and pot is nothing but a way to get more money for shipping, as if none of us has extra pots or soil.

That first and second picture in the link above is NOT a trachycarpus fortunei at all. Neither is the second picture.

Its also NOT a Washingtonia either. It looks alot more like some kind of livistonia to me.

The 3rd and 4th pics ARE windmill palms. I would be curious to see what one actually got if someone ordered it, but I personally would NOT buy from any place that has pics of something that is not the product they are claiming they are selling.

Did you guys look at their zone maps?

They put different zones under the same colors. Its easy to think you're in a warmer zone than you are, and therefore buy a plant that wont really live where you do without protection.

look at the video it shows a different plant , and they are saying -30 F

I just looked at it again, (I really need a life haha)And I noticed that the last picture is what it says the palm they send you looks like. Is it just me, or does this palm looks nothing like a young trachie? This looks more like some sort of pinnate palm.

Looks like someone on QVC has messed up, the palm in the first link looks like livistona australis, which would be hopeless in zone 6 if this is indeed the one they would ship?

Chad the last one is a phoenix of some description probably canariensis, pretty much as far away from a windmill palm as you can get still no good in zone 6 though.

defindtly a livistonia no chance in zone 6
