Hello and a question

While out walking today noticed passion fruit growing wild. There were a few on the ground so took them home and was amazed how lite they were. The fruit was duck egg size. The flowers are purple. Really enjoyed the fruit, the juice was awesome but very very little of it in the sacks inside. I was wondering which type is the best to grow for the fruit? Or are they all very lite for their size? I am in central Florida.

I think that comercially edulis are the most commonly grown for juice. Some definitely have juicier arils then others. Not sure if I'd say they are light for size but most aren't jam packed with juicy bits. I've always noticed a lot of empty space inside so maybe that's why you consider them light for size. Besides incarnata (might be what you found) and corkystem passies (not edible and very small fruit) I'm not sure which others grow wild in FL. Someone here will know.

Definitely was not corkystem.....could be the incarnata, looked it up and the flowers, leaves and fruit look right. Just weighed the fruit....only weighs 1.1 ounces.
