I assume it's Passiflora lutea, although I'm really not familiar with that species.

Since this should be a reasonably hardy strain of P. lutea you should consider propagating it. I assume you are zone 7a? There is a lot of interest in growing the hardier Passifloras, and you may be able to trade it for something interesting.

Most Decalobas (a subgroup within the Passiflora genus) are easy to propagate. I don't know if Passiflora lutea is.

I have just started establishing a few plants taken from cuttings. Although I first attempted growing from seed, I havent had much luck that way.

I think lutea is the cold hardiest passie I've come across but I've never seen it growing wild around here (I'm in MD, very close to No VA). I don't grow it any longer but there had been years with unusually harsh winters where my incarnata and caerulea didn't return in the spring but the lutea did.

Why don't you dig up some stems with roots attached. It should grow well in your garden.
