You left out the most important thing: What kind are they, and do you want to trade the cuttings? :-)

The east window would be best, northeast second and north third. As long as you water sparingly, though, they should be semi-dormant and make it through the winter OK no matter which window you put them in.

So jb, won't they continue to grow and flower indoors over the winter? As for cuttings, I'll only do it personally. Last year I offered to send out brugmansia cuttings and it was a pain with getting shipping materials and going to the p.o. I don't have incredible varieties anyway. The red is coccinea and the lavendar is caerulea. I got all of 2-3 blooms off the red, the lavendar went crazy.

I cut my passies back enough to get them inside and keep them under HID lights for about 14 hours a day. Not only isn't the light from a window that strong but the days are short. Most will continue to bloom indoors though the colors aren't as vibrant as they are outside. They don't produce fruit because there's nothing to pollinate the flowers. I let the soil dry out well between waterings while they are inside. I cut them back again when I take them out in the spring. Even though they continue to grow over the winter the foliage is not as strong or full.

Boxes of all sizes as well as tape...for a small fee they will also pick them up from your home...
