Sure wish you could edit posts on this forum. The word is 'ingenious'

    John,

What an idea! Will give it a try even though I am very happy with the homemade tulle bags am using now.

I am VERY interested in this method too John. How does the flower get pollinated though. Wouldn't this eliminate both insect and wind pollination?

Pepper flowers are "perfect" having both male and female components. (That's why they produce pods inside without insects or wind)). Wind or insects contribute to cross pollination by moving the pollen from flower to flower.

I must try the glue idea this summer, just to see if it works. This being my second year of growing peppers, I am wondering why the harvesting of seed is such a priority for some growers. My guesses are... getting true seed, saving $$$, making $$$, creating your own strain, or your planting massive amounts of peppers.

After finding my favorite strains, I had planned to continue to buy seed on line. Especially from a nice lady in Texas.

Also, thanks for a new pepper site for me to investigate, looks very informative.

    Rick,

I would say 'getting true seed' and 'creating your own strain'.

This actually does work quite well. It leaves no room for question as to the purity of your strain. Been doing it from some time now.

Hey UCVinero, nice to see you posting again. What type of glue have you used to do this? Hope all is well.

    Hi all,
I'm new to the world of the chilli and have started growing several different varieties. I intend to keep them all in a green house (UK weather) but need a 100% guarantee that no cross pollination can occur as I'll be selling a few seeds to fund my hobby.

I'm so impressed by the glue method that I'm going to give it a go but would be grateful if you could point me in the right direct regarding the glue.

    Can I use PVA?
Does it need to be watered down?
If I can't does anybody know of glue I can get in the UK?
Is liquid latex ok to use in a green house?

    Sorry about so many questions.

    Thanks
