Edulis harvest

Hi, it is end of fall (approx. 9b - USDA climate area) here now and there are still 40-50 fruit on the passiflora edulis. However, the fruit do not seem to ripe many longer with the max. temp of 58F or so and will be even colder in December.Can I harvest them now and will they taste nice by leaving them for 7-10 days on a table? Or they won't become edible at all?

Probably won't get ripe at all...more than likely will have a "metallic" taste, but you won't know until you try. However, There are some named cultivars that reportedly ripen in cool conditions. give it a try and let us know the results. Have a nice day.

Thanks for your comment. The temp. is expected to fall as low as 40F. next week, but at least there will be plenty of sun light this time of the year, so I still have a bit of hope. Anyway, I will try until I get fed up with the metallic taste!!!
