Kristofer, not that this followup has anything to do w/passionflowers. But bless you for rescusing those adorable babies. Your pics are delightful. I live in So. Calif. and I know one of the shelters had a ferret in their lost and found, but I don't know whatever happened to it. Hopefully, the owners came and claimed it but as you said they are illegal here, so I don't know if they could claim it.

Kristofer, keep a watch on your Kewensis - mine flower in the afternoon/evening and it took some time for me to catch on! I thought they were dropping without opening! They seem easy to set fruit but I haven't managed to sprout any of my crosses yet. I have open pollinated fruit setting but its at the top of a peach tree so I will have to watch it for when it drops.

Mine's only about 24" tall- It only has 9 leaves and is right here on the desk where I *think* it's fairly safe.

I crossed my edulis with caerulea many many months ago & had been watching this one fruit develope.. Slowest Ever.. One day I couldn't find it. My neighbor is a bit negligent "trimming" his bushes and sometimes strays into my yard- He had chopped a few things down the day before & I thought he'd gotten that piece of vine.
Couple days later I was digging up a Brugmansia that had rooted and there it was. It had gone from green to purple / brown in like 3 days and dropped. I thought it was gone as usually they take a lot longer to turn & then hang forever untill I pick them.. So I can see myself waiting under your peach tree with a basket...
