Has anyone planted this strain of Habenero? From what I have ready, they look like a Hab but have almost no heat. I ordered some seeds last night after reading about them, they will be a good way to trick my pepperhead friends.
There are a number of 'mild heat' habanero types available such as Tobago Seasoning, Trinidad Perfume, Aji dulce 2, in addition to your Zavory. I grew Aji Dulce 2 a few years back and still have a few in the freezer. Nice, fruity and prolific. Heat ranged from almost completely sweet to a medium jalapeno-range kick, all on the same plant.
I did some research on Zavory and it is actually an Aji Dulce type pepper from Venezuela. Someone just put a name on it, probably Burpee, who from what I hear likes to rename varieties so they can sell it as an exclusive. It is related to or maybe even the same as the Caribbean seasoning peppers. I hope it lives up to the hype because I just bought some seed for it.
I bought one of these plants from my local nursery and MMMMmmmm. Its become my favorite craving. Beautiful habanero type plant, loads of fruit, and a flavor that I keep expecting to be HOT, but is quite mild. Lovely.
