Ok. I'll bite. Do you mean "mandala" as in the game from Africa with 12 (?)holes and stones. Is this a rotation system? Sounds great--esp when you add in chickens.

Yes, it's a rotation garden system. I don't think there's an African connection with the word "Mandala", rather the shape and design of the garden looks like a yantra (or mandala). Yantra - Sanskrit word for gometrical pattern or symbol often used for meditation. Rather a pretentious word for a garden system isn't it! - but the system itself is terrific. Very low maintenance, easy to establish and looks great too with circular shapes and curvy garden beds.

md_tn_mama: the game you are thinking of is called "mankala". i play it with the kids i take care of and it's one of my fave games.
is there a book or a good webpage for the mandala garden?
